A plethora of trails and routes covering this small mountain sitting on the eastern edge of the city of Spokane. There are a few jeep trails mainly along the power line route headed to the NE, but mainly just a lot of singletrack. No real signage although some of the locals have attempted to color-code some routes with ribbon, paint, etc. Some technical routes and some long, fast runs through the forest.
From I 90 take the Hamilton exit North to East Mission ave, turn right and then take a left on Upriver Dr. Follow this to a right on East Frederick ave, .25 mi on the left is Sheilds Park. This puts you on the SE side of the Hill, go around the climbing rocks, pick a trail and head up towards the summit. <br /> Option #2 â From Upriver dr turn left on Freya st and head north to the Esmerelda Golf Course and park in their parking lot. This puts you on the West side of the Hill, pick a trail or the access rd and head up, you will see plenty of trail options on the way up.<br />
